Local Trust offers work experience
12th December 2007

The Trust has recently signed up Connexions pre-16 work experience placement scheme and are taking on their first group this week. The students are all in their final year at All Hallows Catholic High School and are joining different departments across the Trust:

-Tom Prince will be joining the Community Support team who offer support to older and more vulnerable customers

-Philip O’Donnell will be working as an Assistant Housing Officer within the Neighbourhood team who deal with day to day housing issues

-Jack Malkin will be working as an Assistant Surveyor, helping to deliver the ongoing improvement programme of new kitchens and bathrooms

-Daniel Brown will be joining the Repairs team as a Builders Assistant

All Hallows is just the first of four local schools who will be sending pupils to the Trust over the course of the coming year. Several different teams in the Trust have agreed to take on pupils, so there is a wide range of experience to be gained.

Helen Worswick, Head of Human Resources said “Here at Cheshire Peaks & Plains we recognise that we have an important role to play as a local employer. We are delighted to be able to offer local youngsters the opportunity to gain an insight into the housing sector, and we hope that this programme will encourage more local people to consider a career at the Trust.”
