Cumberland Street Development is now 5 weeks away from completion and as you can see the brickwork is nearly completed. Last week the windows and doors began to be fitted and internally there is electrical work and plastering taking place.
We have been holding a staff competition over the past few weeks to come up with suitable name for our first development. Check back next week to find out the winning suggestion.

Timber frame erection is still ongoing at our Cumberland Street development and as you can see the roof trusses are now up. Our contractor’s - Bramall Construction are committed to the ’Considerate Contractors Scheme’ and as such are keeping all local residents well informed on scheduled site activities and are planning to visit two local schools to give presentations about the project and to highlight to the children the dangers of playing on or around building sites.

The Trust’s first new build project is now well underway at Cumberland Street. We are developing 8 two bedroom flats which will feature solar panels on their roofs.
The homes are designed to tackle energy waste and reduce the carbon emissions produced by day to day activities within the home enabling residents to benefit from reduced energy bills. The homes are built with our customers in mind and we are hoping to link with energy suppliers to monitor energy use over a period of time. By reaching Code Level 4 of the Government Code for Sustainable Homes we are leading the way designed and efficient home that really are built with the future in mind.
The flats are made using the timber frame construction which as you can see in the photograph are now nearly all in place, next week we anticipate the roof will be on so please check back to see the updated photograph.
The flats are due for completion during June 2010.
If you have any questions regarding the development or its progress please feel free to call us at the Trust and speak with a member of the Development Team on 0800 012 1311.
